Here is one of the oldest and most
important documents of our neighborhood. It shows
Temple Crest and Temple Terrace in the mid-19th century.

The
survey was recently discovered by Grant

Revitalization of Temple Terrace. If

*********************
These are truly great times for Temple Crest.
First, we have 40th Street under construction, a
miracle to behold after 50 years of trying to get this road
renovated. We continue to thank Mayor Pam Iorio for this
marvelous investment in our neighborhood.
Second is another jewel in our crown, the year-old Sylvia
Kimball Rodriquez Elementary School, which was dedicated during
a ceremony I attended yesterday on March 29, 2009.
Third, we are now beginning the form-based code planning for the
40th Street Corridor, the next phase in our
Renaissance of the 5 neighborhoods that line this now,
magnificent parkway.
Finally, there is Orange Lake. Truly a gem, and a jewel,
Orange Lake is a wetland in trouble.
Surrounded by a dense urban area, it is the small scale example
of how we are failing to take care of Mother Nature, yet we
still expect her to take care of us.
When the documentary is finished it will contain at least 3
chapters…so watch your mailbox. You will
receive the final DVD, which I hope to have completed later this
summer.
